We depend on our feet so much and even though they can handle hundreds of tons of force, when damaged or tight the pain can be unbearable. This is due to the 7000 nerve endings in each foot and their complex structure with hundreds of muscles and ligaments. Going bare foot can sometimes ease off little niggles.
Simple wear and tear from running or jumping on hard surfaces and overloading can take its toll. Unsupportive shoes like fur lined boots or flip flops can lead to weaknesses in the muscles and ligaments.
This results in the fascia (connective tissues) tightening up and can lead to conditions such as;
- Plantar fasciitis (pain on the sole of the foot)
- Heal pain
- Tendonitis
- Metatarsalgia (pain on top of the foot)
Pain relief advice with massage and exercise when pain is reduced can greatly help most foot conditions. An Advanced Clinical Massage would be reccomended to help treat this condition.
