Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues in the body, such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia, using various techniques to help alleviate pain, reduce stress, and promote overall wellness.
Massage therapy has numerous benefits, including reducing muscle tension and pain, improving circulation and flexibility, boosting the immune system, reducing stress and anxiety, promoting better sleep, and increasing overall relaxation and well-being.
We offer a variety of massages / treatments to suit your individual needs and preferences, including Advanced Clinical Massage, Relaxation Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Hot Stones Massage and Reflexology. If you’re not sure which one is right for you, just get in touch.
It depends on the type of massage you receive. For the Orthopaedic Assessment, we may need you to roll down your sleeves or roll up your trousers, so wearing loose-fitting clothes is recommended.
For a Relaxation Massage, Pregnancy Massage, or Hot Stones Massage, most people undress to their underwear or shorts, as the whole body is usually treated to relax you fully.
For an Advanced Clinical Massage, it depends on the area requiring treatment. If you have a sore back, for instance, we’d recommend taking off your top so your therapist can access your back directly, but leaving on your trousers or skirt is perfectly fine.
However, we can perform the massage over clothing if you prefer; please let us know at your appointment. Whatever you decide, you will always be properly draped with a sheet or blanket to ensure your privacy and comfort.
For our Reflexology, only access to the feet is required, so wearing loose-fitting clothing is fine.
